Something to improve

1. Can you see an improvement on your level of English in these last two years?
Where, for example?

Of course I can see it. Two years ago it was difficult for me to speak, and now, I think I do it fluently and with an acceptable pronunciation. Of course I understand better the listenings but because I use to watch films in English.

2. Which activity best shows your level of English?
The speacking of course, and the listening.

3. Which activities were really USEFUL for you to improve your English? Why?
The grammar activities for the exam, and the speacking, even though people don't use to take part in the class.

4. Which activities did you not find useful to learn English? Why not?
I think the activities were good, but it's difficult to improve English only watching videos twice a week. If we had more classes it would be perfect.

5. Which activities would like to do again next year to keep on improving your English?

This stressing days we have a lots of exams, it's grateful to relax our mind, with some nice videos and songs. I think we'll have to do more grammar or vocabulary activities.

Dialogue

Polly: I'd better leave... I don't want to...
Tania: Shut up b***h! I don't want to see you anymore. And now, please, don't call me again, you two-faced wh**e.
Jamie: Girls, please... come on! Peace and love, ha,ha,ha.
Tania: Really Jamie? Peace and love? Yeah, of coure you love, but not me.
Polly: OK, I don't like that stupid thing, so... I leave. Bye. By the way Jamie, you can call me later and we go for a drink. And... well, (she winks) you know, we can do it all over again, can't we?
Tania: (Tania terribly upset and about to shut) I'm freaking out! Are you f*****g kiddin' me?
Polly: Bye! Kisses to you, darling.(Polly says this with irony)
Jamie: Wait! Hmmm... Tania, sorry.
Tania: What?
Jamie: I'm leaving with her.
Tania: OK, f**k you both.

We have almost respect the World. Do you agree?

We are destroying our future every day, and now, it’s too late to come back to the bast when the environment was more or less fine. In my view, I think that the sentence “we have almost learnt to respect the world” is totally false. You can check it watching the news or listening them.

Firstly, it’s not a thing of the present, it’s also an effect from the past, and we can see that for what scientifics say, the ozone layer is breaking up and degrading because of all the toxic products we emit.

Secondly, it’s not just what I’ve said before. When you go walking anywhere you see the street full of rubbish and then, if it’s not enough, behind you, there’s someone throwing things on the floor.

In conclusion, there are a lot of things to say that are destroying the Earth and we are just beginning to understand all the consequences about it.

The only thing I can say about all this is that if we don’t look after our environment, we’ll destroy our planet a bit more than now, every time.

Man spent 15 years with pencil in head after childhood accident

A 24-years-old man from Afghanistan sought help in 2011 after suffering headaches, worsening vision in one eye,... The doctors made a scan and showed that a 10-centimeter pencil was in his head, from his sinus to pharynx and it injured his right eye. The man said that he didn't know how the pencil got there but he said that when he was a child. once he fell badly.

Strange? Really strange! How can a person have a pencil in his head? Strange things happen, but this is really hard. Can you imagine you with it in your head? Impossible. And without knowing it... I don't know how he could survive. I don't have anything to say about this because it's shocking.

Study finds Facebook helps users ‘Like’ themselves better

Facebook makes elevate a person's seelf-esteem because you always try to post the best you have. But there's not only this, something wrong is on it and that's that this person have the best image of himself, and then, when they see them in an other way, they don't like it.

In my opinion I think it's something everybody do, posting every beautiful picture they have and the best photo they have. And an other consequence of this, when an other person post some photo about you and you don't see yourself fine, you can get angry even for a photo. It's incredible what this famous Facebook can do.

Mom of baby found in Chinese sewer won't be charged

Do you really think he fell accidentally? Incredible. That's all I can say about this news. I think that it's impossible a baby survives in the situation he was, and the mother, I think he can't have this child anymore, she's not a good mother, unless something really strange happened to this little child and for this reason he fell accidentally, but I thing the probabilities that this happened are really low. If I were the judge, this 22-girl, wouldn't have his son anymore. It's impossible. It's something irreal.

It's over!

This week is the last one. Well, it's not the final one officially, but for me it is. Everyday I have an exam, and I think three of them are the most difficult ones. Tomorrow I've Philosophy, and I don't want to do it. I'm scared because I don't know what can happen with this test because I have an eight from the first term, an other eight from the second and in this third term and the last one, I don't know how the exam is going to be because we're studying a really difficult topic and, moreover, I don't like this subject. But if I get a seven, the only thing that count for the final mark is the exam, nothing else. So I have to study extremely hard.
The only thing I have to say is that there's only one more week studying, and then, if I pass all the exams, I'll say: HELLO SUMMER! I really want it.

Beauty

I don't know if you know who he is, but he won the last programme of "Tú si que vales". He's doing all the time amazing things with horses, as you can see on the first picture, the horse is painting, and it's not a joke because he makes performances with all his horses and I can say that it's really amazing. All he says to the horse, the animal does everything.
Some of you think that he tame this animals violently, but he doesn't. He's one of the few trainers who tames the horses with it's nature, its instincts and of course, using the voice. I would like, one day, to tame my horse on this way.

He has a lot of images, and here are some of them:

He has also filmed a TV advertisement, it's really nice! Here you can watch it:

Prisoners

This song is really amazing. I listen to it every beginning of the week and then I know that I have to do the things enthusiastically, I also know that I don't have to look the clock every minute, because the time will become slow, and later slower than before. So I just think that I have to enjoy every moment. That's what this song makes me feel like!

I found this song looking on the internet for a Spanish film, "Combustión", I don't know if you know which one I mean. It was impossible to find the film online, so I couldn't watch it.. but I've seen the teaser and it's incredible... I like this films where the cars are fast and there's a love story too. It makes me excite and yesterday what happened to me is bad... really bad! The only thing I wanted was to watch this film, but I couldn't.

Carlos Jean is the DJ who made this song, and here I lend you a video (sorry, it's in Spanish) from the Hormiguero, a TV programme in Spain, where we can see how they play the song.

My birthday

As you can see on the picture, it's me blowing candles at school. The cake was made by David Costa, and I never thought that he could do something like this, it's not just the fact of making a cake, but making a cake for me? Incredible. I think that maybe, he appreciates me, or I hope so.
He's not an opened boy, he's difficult to understand and has a strong personality. But that's what I like of him, sometimes I do similar things as him, and for this reason it's easier to make him smile, even though I can make him laughing when he's sad.
This was a happy day, I spend all the day with people I love, and not only people from high school. And one day before, it was like my present from Horse-ball, Catalan Federation sent me an e-mail telling me that I was on the selection, and that we go this July to France! I'm so, so happy now!

Little big things I have

Yes, that's a strange photo. Or original, I don't know what you've thought about it at first sight. But the only thing I know is that I really like it. It's difficult to say what I like most of the photo, if my brother, my horse or the broom on the background. No! It's just a joke, it's bored if I don't use a bit of irony.
It's a picture full of imperfections, but that's what make it original. For example, look at my boot, it's broken! Then, what else... What's supposed to be doing my horse? I'm sure you all thought she was looking at my butt, but she wasn't! I had a carrot in my pocket. And nothing else to say about this, some people say: it's better an image than a thousand words!

The most impressive equestrian sport

http://vimeo.com/hballtv/review/66861513/e163590dfb

Here is the link of the video, in Vimeo, because I couldn't do it by an other way.

It is important you watch the video before reading what I say.
I could write so much about this sport and at the same time I would have it described in a few words. I'm going to do it by both ways. This sport means so much to everybody who's playing it. For people who never's seen it or don't like horses, they say that it's not impressive at all and that maybe, it won't be nothing on the future. And my question is: WTF do they know about it? Do they feel as I do with my horse doing what I love, with something else? Because I don't think so. Well, it's better that I stop because this topic makes me getting nervous.

If you have seen the video, you could made an idea of what it is and how do we play Horse-ball. It's not only you who think that it's a crazy sport. Sometimes, when I'm thinking about it one thing pass through my head and it is if I am okay with myself or something is wrong! And later I say: no, it's just I like having fun and have some risk.

As I said, I can describe how it is in a few words: a little life.

Dear John

I've just seen this film because everybody told me that it's really fine. Well, it is, unless because it made me cry a lot (well, that's usual in me).
This film is about a soldier who's in holidays and he goes to his town to visit his father. It is summer. One day, she meets a girl and they spend two weeks together and they really fall in love. She has to go back to the University and he has to return to the army. It is a year sending letters and he goes to the town again one weekend. There they meet again but he has to come back to the army. One day, there aren't more letters. Something happened to her. Savvannah send a letter to him and said that he was married to a man. Well, John was so depressed until he had to visit his father because he was diying. There they met again and John said that we wouldn't be anymore with her because she was married, so he was nothing to her. And as all the romantic films, in a few time they met again and here is the end.

I like so much romantic films because I get on the plot, it's like things were happening to me, and that's what makes me feel sensitive.

Gap year

It’s a year you leave your country before, while or alter University. You can choose where you want to go, what you want to do and howlong you want to stay there.

On the one hand, you can leave behind all your problems you have on your country, the simple routine of every day. Moreover, you can be a volunteer and for example, you can look after old people, poor children, disabled people and more.

On the other hand, when you’re abroad you many miss your family and all you had there. Also, it can possibly not be as you expected. All in all, we can say that you find out a new world and you live incredible experiences like meet new people, know different cultures or taste different food that maybe you want repeat.

In our opinion, we think that if you have the chance to go on a gap year, you have to do it because not everybody can do it and you will always remember.

Throughout the ages, swans have been venerated for their elegant grace and gentle beauty. So it's little surprise that these personalities attract such admiration as they sail serenely through life. The swan's noble reputation is its greatest asset and it takes care to cultivate its image by always appearing calm in public.
Things are very different just below the surface, for fueling the swan's elegant glide is a high-energy paddling that consumes most of its emotional stamina. While it's common for a bird personality to exhibit this kind of emotional volatility, it is particularly noticeable in the swan when contrasted with its tranquil exterior.
Supporting a high-profile swan persona requires substantial energy, and a high metabolism can leave them feeling exhausted and drained. When life gets overwhelming, they will take off and find a tranquil, gentle place to meditate and recharge before returning to the real world. This unsettled aspect of their personality means that a swan has probably moved to a different city at least once its life, or is at least planning to do so.
Appearance is important to the swan who enjoys the finer things in life and it spares no expense in pampering itself. It would be a mistake to simply dismiss it as a fragile beauty though; for it is a well traveled, worldly bird who has seen the best and worst of the human condition. Its experiences have made it a well-rounded and worldly individual who can adapt to almost any career. It has no problem with taking direction from a boss and is always prepared to accept input from others.
Its work is well integrated into its life and it strives to find balance in its career and family life. Because swan personalities are often gangly and awkward as children, they have substantial experience in dealing with difficult people and are well equipped to handle conflicts in the workplace. Their innate empathy makes them ideal therapists, doctors, nurses or personnel managers. With their natural beauty they are also well suited for careers in the arts, with a particular affinity for music, ballet and acting.

A woman dies dragged by a wave in Roses

A woman who was 59 years old has died this friday afternoon. She was dragged by a wave in Roses. This woman, Sylvie S., was there with the husband and her grandson, ho is 12 years old.The police received the SOS 19 hours later. The man and the child could go out of the water but later, the police went there and helped the woman. She was already dead.

I have talked about this news because it's something that has happened here and the same afternoon I went to see the sea, and it was really angry. It was incredible. I don't understand how someone can go near the water with this waves.

I took this photo on friday afternoon.

PRESENTATION

VOGUE MAGAZINE
INTRODUCTION
Hi, we are Ona and Irene and we are going to introduce you our presentation. We’re going to talk about this magazine, the American Vogue, because we thought that it was an interesting topic to talk about and it was related with the film “The devil wears prada”, that we’ll talk about this later, and with the last unit where we studied fashion.Vogue is a fashion magazine and it’s one of the most important magazine in the whole world. I’m sure you all have heard about that., and maybe, some of you use to buy this magazine.

HISTORY
The Vogue's history started in 1892 when Arthur Baldwin Turnure founded the first issue from this magazine in New York. His objectives were speaking about life's styles and the interests for New York's elite. In this time Vogue was a weekly journal. In 1909 Mr. Turnure died and Conde Nast publications bought Vogue. The company wanted to be bigger and in 1916 he established separate British Vogue and later French Vogue and the Spanish one. Today Conde Nast publications owns many magazines such as Glamour, Allure, W, Self, GQ, Details, Elegant Bride, House and Garden, Domino, Lucky, Golf Digest, and The New Yorker, just to name a few.Conde Nast transformed Vogue's advertising base and thanks that he made Vogue a completely women's fashion magazine. He also pushed for the covers of Vogue to be done by the best illustrators and photographers.Conde Nast died in 1942, but Conde Nast Corporation still lives on today. In 1973, American Vogue became a monthly publication. The other most important person who has been working in the magazine is Anne Wintour. She has been the editor in chief since 1988. She transformed this magazine in the most fashion's magazine in the world. Today some people called it "The fashion bible". Until this moment, on the magazine's covers only appeared the face from famous people. Wintours changed it, and her covers appeared all the body, unknown models and famous women. Like Michele Obama, Hilary Clinton, Kate Moss, Anne Hathaway, Sara Jessica Parker, Sienna Miller and others. In one year it’s possible to sell 132 millions copies. In 2007 they presented some photos from their magazine in the Metropolitan Art Museum in New York.Nowadays, it's published in more than twenty countries, like Italy, Spain, China, Brazil, Germany, Japan, Mexico...

CURIOSITIES
On the one hand, we can say that in this magazine only appeared 4 males on the cover: LeBron James, a basketball player, George Clooney and Richard Gere, who were actors and Ryan Lochte. They always appeared with a woman. Some observers criticized the cover as a prejudicial depiction of James because he was like King Kong.Does anyone knows about the relation between the film and the magazine? As we said before, the devil wears prada’s related with Vogue. Lauren Weisberger, the author of the book, was Anne Wintour secretary, and we can see on the film how Anne was (Miranda Presley on the film or book). This film is based in real facts, the experience from Lauren. The september issue:The September issue is a 2009 American documentary film about Anne Wintour and her staff during the production in 2007 issue of American Vogue. In this documentary we can see the longest issue in the world, that had 840 pages and it’s weight was about 2’5 kg. But this changed the last September that the magazine was bigger than the other, that had 970 pages.

COVERS
As you can see here, at the beginning the covers were draws, later only appeared the face from famous models, and when Anne arrived, started appearing famous women in general, and showing the body, not only the face. This cover is from Dali, and he drew it in 1944. We think it’s surrealist and original.

CONCLUSION
To finish this presentation we want to say that it’s possible that you weren’t interested on this topic, we understand you! but we thought that it could be a little bit interesting because we watched on the class the film and we studied the vocabulary related on it. These are the reasons we have presented this to you.In our opinion, we can’t realize how they manage all this, because we think that it’s only buying some clothes, but behind this, there is a lot of money and people working to make it better. We hope you liked our presentation. Do you have any questions?

Descritpion

I've known her since we were little. She's medium height, green-eyed and she's got wavy hair. As our parents always say, when we were extremely little we were always pulling out our hair and maybe we hated each other. But nowadays, I think she's one of my best friends.

She's a bit special, I think she has a mature mentality to be 16 years old, but I find it special. The most relevant feature about her is that she's really strong-willed in everything, especially on the studies. The other thing I can say about her is that she's very shy (sometimes I get surprised even knowing her). If she meets a person, she's not going to be chatty with him, but if she particularly knows you, she can never stop talking. And thats what I like about her.

I admire her because she shows you how important is a person to her, and that's something I really love.  Sometimes we argue about stupid things because we both are stubborn. But she's my friend.

Online note service Evernote latest firm to get hacked

Evernote, the notes app, has been hacked and this fact has forced to the company to ask the users to change their account passwords.
There's one message on the official Blog of Evernote and it says that the hackers didn't take key words from the users or information about online payments. However, they have recomended to all them to reset the passwords as a caution. The team from Evernote say: "In our investigation we haven't found evidence that they really entered, changed or lost some content kept in Evernote. We don't have any evidence that some information about payments to Evernote Premium or Evernote Business had been achieved."Another important thing, is that the hackers could be able to get information like user names, passwords and e-mails.For all this reasons, Evernote will request all the users to change the password the next time they login this app.

In my opinion I think that this news was expected... Nowadays everything is getting hacked and it's better not keeping a lot of things on the Internet, because any day you can get scared. I don't use this app but I have it on my mobile phone, and now that I know that, I'm sure I'm not going to use it!

The Horse Whisperer

As we did the oral presentation about a topic related with The Devil Wears Prada, I though that I could talk about The Horse Whisperer. This film is based in a book wrote by Nicholas Evans and it's made in USA.

All start when the little girl takes the horse on the night and everything is snowy. She's with a friend walking across the forest when the horses suddenly scare of the sound of a truck, and after falling down the horse because of the snow (they slide off) and the friend and her horse died, while the protagonist's horse is really hurt. This horse suffers a psychological trauma and he become crazy. The mother brings the horse to a whisperer and with the time, the horse gets better and the girl can ride him again.

For me, the hardest part of the film is when the horse gets hurted, because I imagine if one day this happens to me. It's extremely painful for me if a horse suffers because of my fault, it's horrible. People that never have had any bad experience with the health of an animal to love, they probably won't understand this feelings.

He makes me feel better

This is one of the last post of this term, and as you can see on this blog I’m more telling information about me than anything else. I prefer writing about things I feel.
Today at english class we have described a person from the class, and I’ve described Ona (you can see it on the blog that it’s posted). This hour finished and I went to my class. David Costa’s sitting next to me, and he immediatly said: who have you described? And I told him that I described Ona, and he became sad. He was because he described me, and I knew that when Sonia, the teacher, gave me and Ona (I think she was there) Jaume and David’s compositions. I read David’s description and it was me.
I think this boy doesn’t express his feelings, because he wrote something that really impressed me: he said that when he’s sad, I always try to make him feel better and that I’m always with a happy face, with a smile. And that’s what he loves about me. Finally, in my opinion, the only think we can say is that he isn’t an easy person, it’s only that you have to know how to manage him.

Some birthdays

As you can see in this picture, we are some friends together in Eloi’s House. We were celebrating Ferran and David’s birthday but the last one isn’t on the photo because he had to leave at home.
This party was organized by the guys, and it was clearly that they don’t know how to manage anything, it was everything out of control. They didn’t planned to make any cake, so Berta, Robyn and Caspin had to make it two hours before meet there.
We had so fun, especially when we remembered some times when we were child, it was incredible. You can’t imagine how we laughed this moment.
Eventually, I only can say that they’re really good friends and we can have very good times together.
